MRSA Facts for Schools MRSA stands for Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, a form of staph infection that does not respond to routine treatment with some commonly used antibiotics, although other antibiotics are effective. The Lake Anne Parent Teacher Association is a non-profit organization of parents, guardians, teachers, administrators, and community members who are committed to all of our students at Lake Anne. Excellent schools don’t just happen, they are created through the dedication of superintendents, principals, teachers, parents, and community members who are passionate about student success. Back to school - hope everyone enjoyed their Spring Break! Be sure to "high-five" the Odyssey of the Mind teams and their coaches when you see them! Lake Anne creativity and ingenuity was recognized once again at the Odyssey of the Mind competition on March 15. We'll keep you posted on the upcoming state championship. Spring Fiesta - Just Days Away! The Spring Fiesta is Saturday March 29th - just days away. Here's a quick checklist: Volunteer - Just one hour - contact Cathy Cutrell (cathy.cutrell@usa.net)today Purchase Game and Raffle Tickets - every day this week, - 2:45 - 3:15 p.m. Bake a Cake for the Cake Walk - prizes will be awarded - contact Terri Morgan (terri.morgan@taylorwilliams.us) Spread the word - bring your nieces and nephews, neighborhood kids, t-ball team and Bunco buddies - everyone will have a great time at the Spring Fiesta Get out your dancing shoes After the games are done, the dancing begins! After School Programs - Registration Continues through 4/4 Look in the backpacks and binders for the latest offerings of afterschool programs for your child. Classes for the Spring session include: Yoga, Flag Football, Soccer, Mad Science and Lego Club. Registration begins March 11 - April 4 and classes begin the week of April 14 for 6 weeks. Questions? Students involved with this project will help design a mural for the inside of the tunnel that goes under Fairway Drive. Then in May, these same creative students will paint the mural. Contact Kimberly Dillard (kwdillard@gmail.com) for more info or to offer to help with the design process or the painting process. And we are still looking for someone to help plant with Lake Anne students - we aren't thinking a big landscape project - more along the lines of a few rows of carrots or radishes. If you would like to help Lake Anne students discover their green thumbs - and where their food comes from - please consider helping out with this gardening effort.
