Wednesday Sept 27GRACE Art Jam Session - 2:00 pm. – Cafeteria The GRACE Art volunteers will be meeting in the Cafeteria at 2:00 p.m. to review the information and project for this month’s artist, Wassily Kandinsky (a 20th century Russian abstract painter). If you are curious about the GRACE Art program and would like to know how it works, attend this session (no obligation!) and see for yourself how much fun it is to be a GRACE Art volunteer. Book Fair Family Night – until 7 p.m. - Library Thursday Sept 28Book Fair – Open until 3:30 p.m. – Library Yearbook Cover Contest Friday Sept 29PRINCIPAL’S COFFEE on Friday September 29 at 8:45 a.m. New families as well as families who’ve been at Lake Anne for a while are invited to a PRINCIPAL’S COFFEE on Friday September 29 at 8:45 a.m. in the cafeteria. Mrs. Hajj and Dr. Menuey are looking forward to meeting everyone, spending some time together getting to know each other and starting to build strong bonds. Odyssey of the MindOdyssey of the Mind is a special enrichment program open to all grades at Lake Anne Elementary School. Students get together one time per week to work in groups of 5-7 to solve problems. These solutions can consist of building contraptions, painting props, writing scripts, making decisions, taking risks and fun with creativity. No adult assistance is permitted in this process; however, adult coaches are needed to keep teams on track (volunteer please!!). Teams can then compete in March 2007 against other schools. Flyers about the program went home in your kid’s backpacks. ReflectionsReflections, the annual creative expression program sponsored by the PTA, will be accepting submissions from now until October 27.
