This Week at Lake Anne December 18 - December 24While plenty is going on in the classrooms this week, there are no official scheduled activities to announce. Please note that students will be dismissed at the usual time (2:55 p.m.) on Friday 12/22 . No school for students and staff until Monday January 2nd. The Lake Anne office will be closed as well. The Lake Anne PTA wishes you a safe and relaxing Winter Break! The LAES Chorus will be featured on Apple TV Channel 21The Lake Anne Chorus will be featured on FCPS cable channel, Channel 21, throughout the holiday season. Spirit Wear is HereDid you notice all the great looking students wearing great looking school spirit wear last week?! What fun to see so many students (and other boosters!) wearing our new school colors and the dolphin logo. All students who ordered spirit wear should have received it last week. Many, many thanks to Catherine and her team of “anonymous” helpers for coordinating the sale and distributing the many packages to students. And look for some 40th anniversary gear this spring! Student Directory DistributionThe student directories are due to be distributed this Tuesday, with the Tuesday folder. Any family with a paid PTA membership will receive this student directory as a PTA membership benefit. A limited number of additional directories are available – please contact Carolyn Low (Carolyn@familytalk.org) at 703.476.5312 if you would like to become a PTA member and receive a directory. Membership forms are also available on the publication rack outside the front office. Return completed form to front office or morning teacher Capture Candids for the Yearbook The Yearbook team is looking for candid pictures from Lake Anne events. If your child’s class is decorating gingerbread houses or reciting poetry or some other celebration this week, take a few pictures and forward them to LAESyearbook@verizon.net - or put the prints in an envelope marked YEARBOOK and send it in the Tuesday folder. Be sure to include your contact information (name, email, phone number). Please do not send links to Ofoto or Shutterfly or other online photo services – unfortunately those images are not usable. The yearbook may seem like a long way away but the pages are being produced now! Photos need to be received by January 15, 2007. Questions? Want to help? And this year’s Fiesta will be bigger and better to celebrate Lake Anne’s 40th anniversary. The Fiesta team will be gearing up in a big way after the first of the year. Please make it your New Year’s resolution to help in some way (large or small) with the Fiesta event – starting in January.
