Short Week this Week!No School for Students on Thursday Jan 25 and Friday Jan 26. It is the end of the second grading period. Wed (Jan 24) – “Safe and Drug Free” Bookmark Contest DeadlineThe annual “Safe and Drug Free” bookmark contest in Fairfax County Schools is in progress! Entries must promote the theme "Choosing Wisely-To Be Safe and Drug-Free," and convey a zero tolerance message for violence and drug use. All art work must be the individual's original, hand-done creation. A parent/guardian or teacher must sign the entry form indicating that the child's work is original and in compliance with the contest rules. Lake Anne has provided poster board (7 inches x 22 inches). Drawings must be vertical. If your child needs a copy of the form (which gives additional rules for the contest) or poster board, please ask your child’s teacher or the Lake Anne school counselors. All participants will be issued a certificate of participation and the top bookmarks in K-3 and 4-6 will be sent to the countywide contest. The contest deadline for the Lake Anne bookmarks to be brought in to school is January 24, 2007. Afterschool Programs – Registration Continues Registration for afterschool programs continues through Feb 9. Afterschool classes will begin the week of February 13.
