No Activities this week – but a few announcements and “Coming Up” events

Last week, clear bags with your child’s Original Works’ magnet and a catalog type page of items that you could order were sent home in your child’s backpack. The deadline to return those order forms was Friday.

If you are interested in placing an order, Margo Pryzby is willing to have orders dropped off at her home until WEDNESDAY APRIL 4. Please see what is available and if you would like to order (great for Mother’s Day gifts), contact Margo Pryzby (margo@pryzby.org) 703.437.0237 or 703.628.7448 today.

Registration continues for After School Programs, through April 13. Classes begin week of April 23. Offerings include Abrakadoodle, Soccer, Lacrosse and Skate Lab. The complete description of After School programs were sent home in the Tuesday folder and soon will be on the Lake Anne PTA website.

The 2006-2007 yearbook will be packed full of the best collection of photographs representing the school year: the best candids, group photos, and individual portraits of all students, faculty, and pictures of all your special friends having fun while they learn.

Just 25 yearbooks left – don’t miss out! Yearbooks are $21 – checks should be made payable to LAES PTA.

Lake Anne families and friends are invited to join the Analemma Society (www.analemma.org) at Observatory Park in Great Falls .

The astronomers from the Analemma Society will bring their high-quality telescopes and help us find the most amazing objects in the night sky. There is no cost for this event – but we do need to know if you are coming so there will be enough telescopes. Thank you to the Analemma Society for the invitation to share the evening with our families. This is a unique opportunity to look up to the stars and have someone explain what you are seeing!

The PTA Board will meet at 6:15 p.m– all are welcome.

The General meeting begins at 7 p.mSpecial Guests include Virginia Delegate Ken Plum and Virginia State Senator Janet Howell, who will make a presentation to the Lake Anne community. Also that evening, the 4th and 5th grade Odyssey of the Mind Team will give us a peek at their prize-winning performance, as they prepare for the State Finals.

Finally, the First LEGO League Lake Anne Sea Monsters will demonstrate their robotics run for the PTA members. Plenty of great reasons to come to the PTA meeting on April 17th. As always, child care is available.

Spring Skate Night – with a DJ! Come to Skate Quest Reston and spend 2 hours skating with your friends. Lake Anne and Terraset will have the rink to themselves for that block of time.
